The Hosseinabad region of Hamadan is world-renowned for its exceptional runners, and this piece demonstrates why. It features the classic Herati (Mahi) pattern, a meticulously detailed "fish" motif that flows seamlessly from the central field into the medallion and spandrels.

The weaver has used subtle, skillful color shifts to define these different sections without breaking the rhythm of the pattern. Framed by a dark border, the runner has a grounded character and maintains a perfect color balance from the center to the edges.
